Around Town

Toddler - 1 Year Through 2 ½ Years

Our toddler room is structured around our own unique Christian based curriculum. The children learn about God through circle time, art time, and fine and gross motor activities

Our circle time consists of engaging songs, stories, and educational learning. Our art time includes a variety of materials to explore and learn with. Our fine motor activities include things such as finger play, sensory play, and manipulatives. Our gross motor activities include things such as inside play in our sanctuary, outside play and body awareness activities and games.

We encourage our children to practice independence in this classroom by engaging in structured play time, practice independent feeding and participating in our day to day activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I bring on the first day? You should bring a water bottle/sippy cup labeled with the child’s first and last name, a lunch box labeled with the child’s first and last name including an age appropriate lunch, an extra set of clothing, a crib sheet and blankets for nap time on a cot, and sunscreen (season permitting).
  • Can I stop by to visit? Absolutely! We have an open door policy. You can also call anytime to check on your little one.
  • What happens if my child bites? At this age, biting is developmentally appropriate – but we know it can be confusing or even upsetting for parents. As toddlers learn to express their emotions and how to communicate, sometimes this results in biting. Our teachers are here to help support toddlers better use their words when this happens.
